Good general use anti-parasite treatment.
Works against Gyrodactylus (skin flukes), Dactylogyrus (gill flukes), Ichthyobodo (costia), Trichodina, Chilodonella and Ichthyophthirius (white spot).
It also has powerful anti-fungal properties and is used against Saprolegnia (fungus).
Malachite green acts as a respiratory poison to the parasite damaging the cells ability to produce energy to drive vital metabolic processes.
Instructions for use
For quarantine tank treatment
Add 1.5ml of 0.1% malachite green for every 10 litres of tank water. Repeat every three days for a maximum of three treatments. A dose of 2.5ml per 10 litres of tank water can be used for larger fish such as koi, in hard water.
Use in a bath
Add 1ml of 0.1% malachite green solution per 1 litre of water (2ml for larger fish in hard water). Fish can be immersed for up to 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the fish. Repeat every other day for a maximum of four treatments.
Use as a topical treatment
Can be applied directly to a wound or fungus (if present).
