Hello - You are viewing a Currency Cartwheel Penny of George 111 dated 1797 - we bought this in from an old fashioned grader as UNC Very good Lustre - an exceptional coin....we would largely agree with this, except to point out that there are just a few slight marks in the left-hand Reverse field - it is almost impossible to imagine there are currency specimens around that do not have any slight marks as these very heavy coins bore into each other very easily - the point about this specimen is the high amount of real lustre - it is the amount of lustre that sets this example apart from others that are in top grade, but which usually come with lustre no longer in evidence - infact, the actual coin is just a little bit brighter on the lustre than the images seem to show, especially to the inside of the raised rim - these coins are now very rarely seen as such and the Twopences are almost impossible to locate with considerable real lustre - the edge is about as solid as they come ! - the only example on Ebay that is somewhat similar to this coin is now priced at £850 having been reduced from a higher price !
