Seller: anthony-george-antiques (1,511) 100%, Location: chelmsford , Ships to: GB, Item: 122241699455 On offer for sale is fine Quality Rare 18th century circa 1790 mahogany grandfather clock signed George Jamison Portsea a well documented clock maker that worked in Portsea and London around 1780/1820 ,he was listed as going bankrupt in 1799 the cause was he he worked with clock makers in London to make accurate Ships chronograph clocks , this clock is of a very high quality with an 8 day movement striking upon a bell on the hour with hour count , it has strike silent mechanism second dial and date dial ,the movement has been recently cleaned and serviced and fully working keeping good time . the Mahogany case has a wonderful flame mahogany grain and wonderful rich patina . the clock comes complete with winding key trunk door key weights and pendulum .
