Seller: clocksandgrams-uk (565) 100%, Location: Exmouth, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 272463963362 A very good, solid and heavy mid Victorian, eight day, bell striking carriage clock in good original condition. Standing at just over 6 inches tall with the handle up, this is a nice medium sized clock that has been cleaned and serviced within the last twelve months. It strikes the number of hours on the hour, and a single 'ting' at each half past. It hasn't been polished to within an inch of its life, (and spoiled in the process), but is nevertheless spotlessly clean and running well. The platform escapement is the original earlyish silvered cylinder type which runs nicely. It has a nice engraved 'F' and 'S' either side of the index. Don't expect 21st century quartz type timekeeping from a cylinder escapement, but you should easily get within a minute or two a day with this one.Everything is original, and the blued steel spade hands, enamel dial and glasses are all good.I neither buy nor sell altered clocks, particularly ones with clunky looking modern replacement platform escapements, and this is no exception. The well fitting period double key in the photos will be sent with the clockI have added a lot of photos which should tell you all you need to know, but please ask if you have any queries. Please see my feedback to see what previous buyers think of my clocks.I'm afraid I cannot sell to countries outside of the ebay global shipping area, so please don't bid if that applies to you.
