Seller: namelom (597) 100%, Location: Helston, Ships to: GB, Item: 322344654347 This is a really nice heavy chunky late 19th Century French brass 8-day hour and half-hour gong-striking carriage clock in a corniche case, which stands 7" high with handle raised. It has its original cylinder escapement but only runs for a few minutes though sounds OK when ticking away. The striking is fine though now an hour behind the real time! Porcelain dial is fine as are the glass panels but for the top left hand corner panel which feels smooth on the outside in its top left corner but looks as though there is a sliver off on the inside? The backplate is stamped Brevete VR Paris below a sunburst, and numbered 86168. The hands turn with a fitted knob and there is a key to wind the movement included Sub-Type: Carriage Clock, Style/ Origin/ Theme: French, Material: Brass
