The case is made from mahogany and has been beautifully inlaid. The dial is signed 'ALAN RAPER'. The clock case is a wonderful lancet form which pretty fan and shell inlays below the dial. In addition there is further fine stringing inlays around the dial and to the base which sets it off beautifully. The silvered dial is set out with Roman numerals with small Arabic numerals above and between the numerals are pretty fleur-de-lis style patterns. The dial si signed 'ALAN RAPER'. It is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. The door to the dial is bevelled glass surround in brass. This is opened by a key. The clock is raised on a pretty brass bun feet. To the rear the clock has a fretted brass door which opens to allow the pendulum to be hung. The door is opened via a small key. The clock comes complete with it's winding key the two keys for opening the front and back doors. The movement is DOUBLE FUSEE and is a two train movement striking on a gong. It strikes the hours on the hours and also strikes once on the half past. The movement is nice and clean and the clock is happily ticking striking away. DIMENSIONS: The approximate maximum dimensions are: - 11 inches wide - 6.75 inches deep - 16.25 inches high AGE: The clock is circa 1890. CONDITION: The case is in lovely condition, there is a small knock to the front edge to the top of the clock which is not noticeable as can be seen from the photographs, but we have to describe and fault however small.
