Seller: minter33 (187) 100%, Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, Ships to: GB, Item: 282269874368 It is a pleasure to offer this lovely example of a 1920's German Black Forest Striking Wall Clock. The eight day movement has been recently serviced and is in excellent condition keeping good time and striking exactly when it should. The movement is wound by a key (original provided) and the original pendulum has a lovely tick/tock beat. The clock strikes once on the half hour and then strikes the number of hours on a coil gong which creates a beautiful sonorous tone. As well as the movement being serviced, the case work has been treated and waxed and the original glass panels which have no cracks or marks have been removed, cleaned, and replaced in their positions. One particularly nice feature of this clock are the portholes which have been designed so that the movement can be viewed from each side of the clock. Although this clock has been lovingly restored and should run well for many years to come, it is important to remember that this wall clock is almost 100 years old and there are certainly signs of wear commensurate with it's age. The original dial in particular has a few ageing marks, but is best left alone, as the numerals can often be wiped clear when trying to clean too deeply. I welcome collection in person by the winning bidder, but should you prefer I will package the clock and post to the winner. The clocks dimensions are:- Height: 77cm Width: 33cm Depth: 15cm Please study all the pictures which help give an accurate description, and do feel free to ask any questions. Happy bidding and Good Luck!
