This pair of Royal Doulton 21.5cm, stoneware vases is part of Doulton’s venture into Art Deco. No more harsh lines there are the soft lines and colours of the Art Nouveau period, and in are the bright colours and angular patterns of the Deco era. The design is illustrated on p218 of Desmond Eyles’and Louise Irvine’s The Doulton Lambeth Wares.
The vases have the impressed Doulton mark with Lion, dating the vases to post 1923, the series mark 7944 and the incised monogram of Florrie Jones. A rare and collectable example.
The vases are in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or significant scratches
