This is a lovely advertising figure made by Burgess and Leigh under their trade name Burleigh Ware in the 1920s/30s.  It was commissioned by William and Humbert who first began to sell sherry outside Spain in 1877, and their 'Dry Sack' introduced in 1906 is still produced today.  The figure in period dress holds a tray which has two glasses an a bottle of sherry.  The detial and handpainting is very nicely done. The figure would have been given to their suppliers as an advertising promotion and so very few have survived. The base has the special backstamp for Williams and Humbert.

Approx 6” high (15 cms) it is in very good condition,  no chips, cracks, or restoration - (any white flashes are from the camera flash not on the piece)
