Here we have a fab set of 3 large antique Poison bottles. These were made by CVG Ltd (Unknown company to me), 2 of the bottles have this on the underneath - the other is the same but no mark. Each bottle is clear, 2 have a light blue tinge - similar to the colour of glass used in the old lemonade bottles that contained a marble. Each bottle has a ridged body with large, raised "POISON" text so that it was not confused as something else in the middle of the night. Poison bottles were common in the Victorian era for the main purpose of controlling rodents and other pests. These would have likely been sold in a Pharmacy. Quite rare to find bottles of this size and the 3 together make a lovely display - a perfect prop for an antique store. These would date to around 1900-1920 I would think. The photos don't do these justice at all. Each bottle measures approximately 13.5 inches by 5 inches weighing over 1.5kg's each. A great price at only £40 per bottle.
