At the time of its creation the chair was incredible for its pioneering use of emerging technology and design processes. The seat and back are of moulded, veneered plywood, while the positionning of the three legs - attached to the underside of the seat at the centre - allowed it to be stacked. It consisted of only a few parts, could be produced at low cost, was beautifully balanced and extremely lightweight. Over time it became known as The Ant, owing to the seat's iconic pinched waistline shape and thinness of its legs. The original Novo model had the three plastic legs you see here. Later the plastic was replaced by tubular steel, and a four legged version was introduced. Condition Very good used condition. It is intact and fully functional. As you would expect, the surface of chair has a few marks and knocks indicative of use over the decades since its manufacture, but it has clearly been cherished and well looked after and has no significant damages. As you can see, it has gained a wonderful patina over time and displays beautifully. © All original text and photographs copyright room_606. All rights reserved. Payment is required within 7 days. Non-paymentAll non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. Believe me it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder. If you have any doubts, please do ask before bidding.Condition of itemsPlease note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique objects and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs. Vintage electrical itemsUnless explicitly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are always sold in their original condition so should always be safety checked by a qualified electrician (in the country of intended use) before use. ReturnsReturns may be made, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement only, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. I'm afraid that straightforward buyer's remorse does not qualify and the cost of return postage is not included in any refund. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this. If there is anything I haven't covered please don't hesitate to contact me.
