Here is an 18th century original oil on canvas from the French Provincial School, depicting a bust-length portrait of a young lady, dressed in a turquoise cloak lined with ermine. She is set with an unusual antique gilt frame with rounded corners.
Condition .
The canvas has been lined and is highly stable condition. The surface shows overall toning and engrained dirt, while a varied pattern of craquelure is visible throughout. Small areas of retouching can be found, most notably near the upper center border. The frame remains sturdy and highly presentable with some signs of age. Ready to hang.
