Antique Shaped Gilded Metal Mantel Clock c1900 by The British United Clock Company (Birmingham 1885-1909)
Established in 1885 by the Davies brothers , the company was one of the first in Britain to mass produce clocks.
VERY GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION
Nicely Decorated Frame Body with dragons at the corners and raised button pyramids all over
Gilded Metal, Brass, Leather, Glass
The clock is 2.25” dia. with flat glass face cover The clock dial is black painted figures on what looks like a “bone” outer ring with a smaller gold embossed inner ring. The hands are black
The outer body of the clock is cased in “leather” type material with a metal backstand and double finger winder The clock is stamped for authenticity on the rear
Measures approx.
11 cm High x 15 cm Wide x 6 cm Deep It is uncleaned
The casing has wear and gilt deterioration
The Clock mechanism is in an 'as found' condition and needs attention
