This piece of furniture is so unusual I'm not sure what to call it? The pictures say it all! It has been dated as late Victorian C1890. It is made from top grade pitch pine throughout and has a lovely patina. The underside of the open shelves carries a 'leatherette' frill which is very dark green, (probably black originally - from the time when Queen Victoria was in mourning after Prince Albert's death). The frill on the bottom shelf is missing. The lock on the left hand cupboard is working - key included! The lock does not work on the other cupboard or there is something wrong with the key. This cabinet is solidly built and looks as if it could have been designed for use in a church. The large cupboards below are fitted with a selection of drawers, trays & shelves. The back is made from solid tongued & grooved boards. Condition: excellent for age, no evidence of wood-worm. Overall dimensions: 93 x 66 x 20 inches (top section 57 inches high, bottom is 36 inches high) NB THIS ITEM IS VERY BIG AND HEAVY SO IT IS FOR COLLECTION ONLY - EITHER BY YOU OR YOUR COURIER. IT DOES SEPARATE INTO TWO HALVES TO MAKE THINGS A BIT EASIER!!!
