This glorious 1960s vase by the renowned Czech ceramicist, sculptor and glass artist Jitka Forejtová (1923-1996) was created for the ceramics company Keramo Kostelec from Kostelec nad Černými lesy, Czechoslovakia.
Jitka Forejtová (1923-1996) graduated from the State Graphics School in Prague and studied at the VŠUP with Antonín Strnadel and Karel Štipl from 1945 to 1950. After experimenting with various glass technologies she patented the process of fusing coloured decor in 1957.
Since the seventies her work has regularly participated in domestic and foreign exhibitions and can be viewed at a number of museums and galleries, in addition her creations have won numerous awards both in the Czech Republic and internationally.
This Mid Century Modern vintage pottery has a deep white glossy glaze over a textured surface and features an iconic modernist “chimney” neck in rich tones of satin chocolate browns.
