Seller: v8-500s (518) 100%, Location: Uxbridge, Ships to: GB, Item: 182354078774 English Clock Systems Smiths - London, 3ft x 3ft Trent model electric wall clock from 1954 salvagedfrom the Lucozade factory, Brentford.. Previously the area known as the 'Golden Mile' (now the more trendy 'Great West Quarter') from the development of business and industry along the Great West Road since the 1920s, featuring some of the UK's most iconic deco industrial architecture such as the Firestone Building or Wallis house.. Another and probably best known for the illuminated sign welcoming drivers into Lonfon along the elevated section of the M4 was the Lucozade factory.. Indeed, pretty certain that most drivers if asked to mention any brand that reminded them of driving into West London on the M4, then Lucozade would be the top answer..the power of advertising!! The original building was demolished in 2004, now replaced by the Audi showroom. Before demoltion, the property was salvaged and historic items such as this clock were saved. Condition is overall good/solid..some scuffs, scrapes and imperfections as might be expected from a vintage piece of this age. Can leave as is in a very presentable 'industrial salvage look' or restore as preferred. The clock has been dated to 1953/1954, confirming its authenticity as this is the time the Lucozade factory was built (1953) and indeed the iconic 'Lucozade revives lost energy sign' erected (1954). The model of this particular unit is the wall mounted Trent and this is the largest model produced at 36" x 36" as would befit a prestige factory/head office for one of Britain's best known companys and brands. *Try to show relative scale compared with a De Longhi oil heater + Bang & Olufsen hi fi cabinet in the background as not sure can see this from the other images.* These clocks don't come up very often and only one is the clock from the Lucozade factory, so a timepiece from London's historic 'Golden Mile' Collection only due to size + quite heavy and don't want to risk damage in transit. If helps can drop off in/around the London area. Good luck! Age: 1954, Type: Wall Clock, Sub-Type: Head office/factory, Style/ Origin/ Theme: Antique/ Vintage
