This is a large over-mantel mirror with its original bevelled mirror glass panel. This mirror shows typical signs of the Henri II style with its bold heavy mouldings and fluted finials running down either side of the mirror. The wooden frame has been painted in an antique gold with a crackle glaze effect. Matthew, Hannah and family lived in France near Perpignan for six years and over that time grew to love and appreciate the elegance of craftsmanship of french style.
