French Industrial Steel Cabinet By Strafor-Forges de Strasbourg circa 1920.
A fabulous fireproof steel cabinet, probably originally made for a solicitor's office, with 16 clapet doors with the original twist locking ring handles and brass index card holders, plus brass protectors to the front four corners.
A seriously stylish piece of French history.
The Forges of Strasbourg were established in 1919, and instigated the manufacturing of sheet metal made furniture. In 1926 the company launched the brand ‘Strafor’ combining 'Strasbourg' and 'Forges', to market their iconic range.
