This is a stunning antique French gilt ormolu and porcelain panelled mantle clock case of high quality The case is very heavy and cast to a very high standard with beautiful Rococo detail To the base there are hand painted porcelain shaped lavender panels Centre panel is a rural scene  The two out panels are of a urn of swags and flowers The porcelain dial is of a cherub & clouds to the centre of the dial, puce Roman numerals and painted decoration Previously fitted with a working quartz movement The original movement is present (not fitted) but has no brass fixing plate for the dial The balance is working and will run intermittently The movement is marked Japy Freres Clock stands 12.5" X 13" wide X 4" deep
