Seller: timerunner56 (672) 99.5%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 291951671626 Quality French Ormolu Mantle Clock With Fine Porcelain Panels!A top quality and early French 19th century mantle clock. On the top of this delightful gilt bronze ormolu case is the figure of 18th century dandy gentleman admiring himself in his dressing mirror. This is a beautifully cast clock with good gilding with superb detail to the mirror, figure and the stool he sat upon. The bezel is also nicely cast and would not have had glass even when new, so perhaps suggests that it may well have had a dome? The dial has a couple of extremely fine hairline cracks which are very difficult to see but has retained its finely detailed hands. Also retained is its gilt wood base which fits the clock beautifully, most of these tend to be missing. The 8 day french movement is count wheel striking on a bell and is signed 'Establissement De Paris, Miroy Freres' and is numbered '793'. This movement is in good condition with the spring good and fully wound. I haven't had it running but probably would with a clean and service. Measures 9in high (11in including base) x 14in wide x 3.5in deep. The key and pendulum are included. A beautiful quality period clock in nice condition that is sold as seen.Postal costs refer to UK mainland addressesHappy to answer any questions, either via message or phone ( 07761 432112 ) Terms and ConditionsAll my items are sold for restoration and consequently sold as seen without a guarantee.
