Kirk kit built Gresley Full Brake with light weathering, finescale wheels, and a horrible tension lock coupling, mercifully only at one end and simple enough to remedy.
The other coach is a Gresley Corridor Buffet, again lightly weathered with finescale wheels, which I used to run as ‘Out of service’ stock because all my coaches have to be populated and illuminated but there’s no way in without wrecking it. So, ‘Out of Service’ permitted it to run!!
The trickiest part of building Kirk kits is getting Gresley’s. trademark teak effect, (known as ‘scumbling’) to look convincing. Congratulations to whoever painted these two because the scumbling is superb. Take a look at the close up photos.
Thank you for reading this far and good luck if you are bidding.
