A rare and unusual cornerless violin of unknown origin, unlabelled, and probably early to mid 19th century work. Similar to the Chanot cornerless violins of the 1810s or thereabouts, but with a conventional tailpiece arrangement and a standard scroll. Repaired rib cracks, button fracture, opening back seam, losses to the edge bindings. As shown for restoration, full size.
