The German manifestation of Art Nouveau was inspired not only by Art Nouveau as it was being expressed in France and Belgium, but also by the reforming ideals of John Ruskin and William Morris. Munich-based Riemerschmid exemplified this influence as much as any of his peers and his elegant and standardised decoration and forms went on exert considerable influence on the Modern Movement and the Bauhaus. Details Chair executed in dark stained beech wood and veneered plywood, standing on square feet, legs slightly tapered, U-shaped seat with a rounded front edge and curved backrest. Approx measurements Overall height: 84 cmSeat height: 46 cmSeat width: 41 cm Condition Very good used condition with signs of use consistent with age. Payment is required within 7 days. Non-paymentAll non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. Believe me it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder. If you have any doubts, please do ask before bidding.Condition of itemsPlease note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique objects and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs. Vintage electrical itemsUnless explicitly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are always sold in their original condition so should always be safety checked by a qualified electrician (in the country of intended use) before use. ReturnsReturns may be made, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement only, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. I'm afraid that straightforward buyer's remorse does not qualify and the cost of return postage is not included in any refund. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this. If there is anything I haven't covered please don't hesitate to contact me.
