Here for sale is a fantastic antique display cabinet. Made from walnut veneer with a wonderful inlaid decoration and ebony banding. it has the most wonderful gilt metal ormolu decoration. There is a retailer plaque to the back for T. Wallis, who was based at Holborn Circus, London. Thomas Wallis's began as a linen drapery in 1826 and moved to No 7 Holborn Circus, which covered an acre of land in 1869. By this time Wallis’s described themselves as 'General Drapers and Complete House Furnishers'; they also had a reputation as a supplier of quality linens. A stunning Victorian cabinet perfect as a cocktail or display cabinet. Can be used as a bookcase and to add soul and character to any modern interior.
Condition
Area of missing veneer to top. There is a key but the lock is not working. Crack to middle shelf. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Viewing of items is always welcome. The Retrobarn is based in Flamstead, Hertfordshire and is open by appointment.
All items are packed using recycled cardboard and bubble wrap. Items are sent tracked, insured, and signed for.
