A side-stand fitted to a Vespa is just as cool as it is practical! Instead of having to pull it up awkwardly onto the centre-stand every time you park, you can kick out the side-stand and leave your scooter leaning casually to one side. All of the side-stands included in the SIP style range are auto-retractable and possess two separate return springs as part of their design, making them fully legal for road use across the whole of Europe and the rest of the world! These items are available in black, red and a chromed version, either rounded or angular in construction. Due to their high quality of production these side-stands are extremely stable and solidly built ensuring long use. These side-stands are mounted between the frame of the scooter and the existing centre-stand. In order to be able to mount and use both stands a longer set of M6 fixing bolts will also be required. Retention of the centre-stand is useful for things like parking on slopes, refuelling, tyre replacement or just routine maintenance.
The perfect sidestand for small frames and oldies
The newly available SIP side-stands , known as the '76°' range, are equipped with a redesigned holding-plate and a shorter stand. These features make them fully compatible with all smallframe Vespas, all eight and ten inch wheeled vintage models, as well as all Vespa 50-125cc/PV/ET-3/125 VNA – TS/150 VBA – Super/P150S/GS 160/SS180/Rally models. The side-stands from the '76°' range can also be fitted to the Vespa PK, PX and T5 models, adding a more radical lean-angle than provided by the stands from the '82°' range. This extreme state of lean looks even cooler and also provides more stability when parked on uneven or soft surfaces.
Instead of fiddly mounting with 4 individual washers are included in the scope of delivery of the SIP side stand two shims, which optimally transfer the force introduced by the mounting bolts into the frame rail.
Information : If at first attempt, the side-stand refuses to automatically fold back to the frame when the Vespa is taken off the stand, spray some WD-40 onto the return springs and watch it fly!
