The fall front with a figured curl pattern exposes a fitted interior with a central panel with double strung boxwood inlay; the panel also conceals x3 secret drawers. Flaked by pigeon holes with shaped pelmet below one long drawers and x2 short drawers; constructed with exquisite fine dovetails. Lopers support the writing slope when in use which has a baize centre panel. below x4 graduated drawers with cock beading and later replacement gilded handles with manufacturing stamps (fitted from 1790 onwards) standing on original bracket feet. All drawers and fall front are lockable with original locks. and single key. Of fine, proportions with good patination and colour complete with original finish. ( this has not been re- polished or coloured up in any way). There has been some minor restoration work to the drawers in respect of drawer runners being built up and calico strips applied to splits in drawer bottoms and a small amount of veneer replaced to drawer dividers .Overall a really nice original high quality bureau, of small,sought after size with many practical uses for today .
