M INT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
NOTE:- Please note that because of the time it takes to list an album compared to the time it takes to listen to one from start to finish, listing generally precedes listening. However, I do listen to all tracks on all albums from start to finish before auction end and I update my "Vinyl Condition Report" accordingly. Anyone who bids before the listing is updated will be notified of any adverse findings and is welcome to withdraw their bid on that basis. I spend a considerable amount of time on each album checking the physical condition of the cover and vinyl before listing and, thereafter, listening to it. I do my absolute best to ensure that my item descriptions are honest, accurate and in accordance with the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide shown above and I tend to be critical and conservative in my descriptions and gradings . However, the condition of used vinyl albums varies greatly and any assessment of them is necessarily a subjective matter on which opinions (even my own!) can differ from time to time. The last thing I want is an unhappy customer who leaves negative feedback and/or comments. In the event that buyers are dissatisfied with any aspect of their purchase items, in particular, if they consider that the item does not match its description, please contact me in the first instance before leaving feedback and I will do my absolute best to resolve any issues.
