Fantastic mid-century sideboard/cabinet. Would suit a variety of uses. Would make decent record cabinet but as you can see in the images the LP's don't quite stand up so would be on the lean. TV cabinet or just a stylish sideboard for storage. It's a very accommodating size and would suit a small apartment  or stylish studio.  I love the white trim, very unusual and really striking. Lovely label on the inside. SW Möbel. I initially thought it Danish but they are an Austrian firm. Some interesting info on them below. Check the transfer decal on the lock as well "HC". No idea who they are but it's a wonderful design. A wee bit of fading to the teak veneer (At least i think it's teak but it's quite light coloured). Chipboard back. Overall superb condition. The glass sliding door has a tiny rim chip but it's forgivable and barely notices.  Nice detailing on the escutcheon and also the original key is very stylish. I'd say early to mid 60's going by the style. Have a quick search on SW Möbel and you will see the kind of prices they are fetching. Serious money. There's a bookcase for sale for over £800 (not nearly as nice as this sideboard), a pair of lovely chairs for over £3000! (Bit steep in my opinion). I picked this up as a sleeper in and auction so can offer it at a very competitive and seriously tempting price £320 which is probably about half price and i will deliver free if you are near Sevenoaks and i can also deliver most places South East/South West so drop me a message to see if i can deliver to you free. If not then you will have to arrange your own courier or collect from either Sevenoaks way or New Milton near Bournemouth as i commute between the two.  Dimensions are: Width - 85cm Height - 80cm   Depth - 36cm Internal Top Height - 25cm Internal Bottom Height - 30cm. No returns on this item for obvious reasons. You can see what it is. Lots of decent images to go by and feel free to message me any questions. Check out my feedback. I've been doing this a very long time and am very efficient and also ruthlessly honest so you are in safe hands!   SW-Möbel was an association that produced affordable furniture for the post-war period from 1954 to around 1968 . With the support of the City of Vienna, the Federation of Trade Unions and the Chamber of Commerce, the association for the production and sale of "high-quality, inexpensive and modern furniture was founded under the name of Soziale Wohnkultur, or SW-Möbel for short The years after 1945 in Vienna were dominated by the rebuilding of the city. Immediately fol-lowing the war, furniture design was the furthest thing from anyone’s mind—buildings and apartments had to be constructed, and furnishings and furniture were largely improvised. There was a dramatic housing shortage in Vienna, and the city reinstated its public housing program to mitigate the problem. Some 40 percent of Vienna’s buildings and much of the urban infrastructure had been destroyed; cultural institutions and historic landmarks such as the State Opera, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Burgtheater also sustained heavy damage in the final days of the war.  In 1952, in a collective effort by the City of Vienna, the Chamber of Labor, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Austrian Trade Union Federation, a furniture project called Soziale Wohnkultur (literally “social living culture”) was established. Low-income residents were to be able to purchase attractive, functional, and practical furniture for small apartments at af-fordable prices. An entire line of furniture was designed at the time for this purpose, ranging from shelves, beds, settees, and lamps to kitchen furniture. The designs came from, among others, Oskar Payer, Roland Rainer, and Franz Schuster. The Soziale Wohnkultur (SW) as-sociation contracted with furniture manufacturers, determined designs and quality stand-ards, and prefinanced the furniture production. All furnishings were marked with the SW logo; the brand stood for inexpensive, high-quality, modern furniture design.278In the 1950s, the architects who remained in Vienna provided the area of furniture design with crucial impetus. In their designs, they drew on the artistically productive period of the 1920s and ’30s and thus on the visionary ideas and formal principles championed by the leading figures of Wiener Wohnraumkultur, architects who had been expelled or murdered. Only very few of the surviving architects and designers who had been driven out by the Nazis returned to Vienna after the war. Ernst Lichtblau re-turned from the US to the city of his birth only in 1961, at the age of seven-ty-eight, and resumed his work as an architect; he died of a heart attack shortly thereafter.279 Ernst Plischke moved back to Vienna from New Zea-land  in  1963  and  was  appointed  professor  for  architecture  at  Vienna’s  Academy of Fine Arts, but he no longer received any major contracts as an architect.  Oskar  Payer  also  returned  to  Vienna  after  the  war,  in  his  case  from Palestine. With his interior-design shop, he significantly influenced the furniture design of the 1950s. In the post-war period, Payer, who had trained as a cabinetmaker in Vienna and attended the State Trade School (Staatsgewerbeschule),  became  a  proponent  of  social  housing  projects  and modern furniture design. He also wrote a number of books about home furnishings,  such  as  Die  Wiener  Einrichtung  and  Praktische  Wohnungs-kunde, and was involved in the development and organization of the So-ziale Wohnkultur project.280 At the beginning of the 1950s, he and his wife, Marianne  Payer,  opened  the  interior-design  shop  Die  Wiener  Wohnung, which in the early 1970s was renamed Payer-Decor. In 1958, Marianne Pay-er acquired Haus&Garten from Julius Kalmar, who had run the business
