Vintage 1920s Gretsch CLAROPHONE Banjo Pro Musical Instrument Made in USA. This instrument has not been cleaned or serviced. There is some wear, so please see my pictures for details. No rust. This has been kept indoors and passed down to a family member from the original owner. This banjo has no strings and no bridge but does have the original tailpiece. No other noted damage or missing parts. Head is made of calf skin. Made by the Fred Gretsch Manufacturing Company out of Brooklyn, NY. The Clarophone Tenor 4 String Banjos were made between 1822 to 1928. Enclosed back with resonators that amplify sounds. Distinct portholes. Rock maple wood and bone. Approximately 29.5" in length, 11" across the head and about 3" thick. A beautiful instrument and rare find. Thank you for your business.
