Seller: wirren (289) 100%, Location: Sheffield, Ships to: GB, Item: 112217513100 We have owned this clock for over 20 years.It was purchased by my late father from Derek Roberts Antiques of Tonbridge, Kent in 1995. for £2200.We have the sales invoice.The most attractive clock has a waisted case veneered in well figured walnut of a good warm honey colour which is inlaid to the front and sides with fine floral marquetry.The case is surmounted by a cherub playing a musical instrument and below this is a crowned head. There are further floral mounts to the four sides and winged heraldic beasts forming the feet. The centre of the back door has a circular silk backed cast brass fret.The movement, which has count wheel strike, bears the stamp of Vinceti et Cie's silver medal for 1855 and is numbered 193. The convex white enamelled dial has blue Roman hour and black Arabic minute numerals together with fine gilt brass hands.
