A rare item I have done some research on -
The text is from Alan Shentons 19th Century pocket watches and a David Penny sale from about 2010
A capped full plate movement with twin going barrels independently wound. Compensation Balance , spiral balance Spring. Perfect enamel dial signed in full.
59 mm diameter
It is housed in a large silver case hallmarked Chester 1900 and has a suitably large link silver chain to accompany it. It is a magnificent heavy piece of fine Victorian Watchmaking. Retailed by P. Winterhalder of Bury
It is all in very well preserved condition. I have not tried to fully wind it but I have just wound and had it running on my desk for 7 days and it is keeping time. Please study all the photos. The porcelain dial has no hairline cracks I can see and the letters/numerals are not worn. The case hinges are perfectly working and the covers open and close as they were designed. Key included
Please note I will be away 24-31 March
