Description A nice decorative English antique early Victorian (Queens head) solid sterling silver christening mug by the regarded silversmith George Unite (1832 - 1926) in lovely condition and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1856 . Good quality and a genuine 178 years old; a very attractive shape and decorated with engraved flowers and foliate scrolls, it weighs approx 68 grams and importantly there are no added personal engraved inscriptions.
Measurements Measures approx 3 inches (77 mm) in height and is 2.45 inches (62mm) in diameter across the base, (excluding handle).
Date English antique Victorian solid sterling silver with a f ull set of silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1856 (date letter "H"). Good marks including the silver duty stamp of Queen Victoria and the silversmiths initials are "G U" (George Unite - 1832 - 1926).
Condition Lovely condition with no splits or wear/polish holes and no nasty knocks or dents. A nicely decorated early silver christening mug and with no added personal engraved inscriptions.
