WKKW - Viennese art ceramic workshop: Founded in 1899 as the company A. Förster by Alexander Förster in Vienna. In 1900 they won a silver medal at the Paris World Exhibition and from the same year onwards they regularly took part in various trade fairs and exhibitions. The company produced art objects in porcelain, stoneware, faience and bisque. The focus was on art objects for electrical lighting, gardening for flowers, clock stands and knick-knacks. A. Förster had his own painting and 23 skilled workers. In 1908 A. Föster was finally liquidated and taken over by the two former employees Heinrich Ludescher and Robert Busch and re-founded in the same year as the Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätten Busch & Ludescher. The WKKW has always been one of the most important and versatile representatives of art ceramics.
