In a sealed recovery system the cap (double seal)

allows coolant to flow to and from the recovery or expansion tank

maintaining the integrity of the cooling system

 

Please note

If your cap is the single seal type IE only one rubber seal (small rubber end of spring)

Large rubber can be easily removed
