This exquisite watercolour painting by Pierre Albert Leroux depicts the Charge of the Horse Grenadiers Lepic a Eylau 1807 with incredible detail and skill. The piece appears to be a water colour painting over a lithograph. Under a magnifying glass you can see paint strokes. It is vividly colourful and stunning portrayal of the Napoleonic Battle of Eylau which was led for Napoleon by French General Lepic who is shown leading the charge and delivering his immortal phrase “ Heads up gentlemen , these are bullets not turds”
