AN 1820 FULL GOLD SOVEREIGN COIN, MINTED DURING THE FINAL YEAR OF THE REIGN OF KING GEORGE III.

IT IS MADE FROM 22 CARAT GOLD, WEIGHS JUST UNDER 8 GRAMS AND IS APPROXIMATELY 22 mm DIAMETER.

THE COIN HAD BEEN MOUNTED AT SOME TIME, SO THE REMAINS OF THE SOLDER IS VISIBLE IN THE PLACES ON THE EDGE WHERE THE MOUNT HAS BEEN REMOVED.  THERE IS CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE NEAR THE EDGE ON THE OBVERSE, WHICH IS CLEARLY VISIBLE IN THE PICTURES.

NEVERTHELESS, THE MAJOR DETAIL IS CLEAR AND THE OVERALL APPEARENCE OF THE SOVEREIGN IS PLEASING.
