18th Century Chinese Blue ground Large bowl with gilding and enamel 25.5cm D. Large and very attractive Blue ground with gilding Qianlong period Chinese Bowl in the European taste Unusual pattern with a deep rich blue ground and enamelled pheasants and flying birds set in 4 separate white cartouches. There is also rich gilding to the blue enamel ground which has survived pretty much intact.. The interior of the bowl is decorated in sprigs of enamelled flowers to the edge and a central flowering plant in iron red underglaze with gold and red enamel decoration all set in a double circular ring Probably produced for the export market of Europe I am dating this to the late Qianlong period late 18th Century though the bowl could also possibly be early 19thC.
