It should be noted that this is a substantial item made from solid wood, it will require 3/4 strong people to move safely when fully assembled. Main robe section 125cm wide, 62cm deep. Substantial 18th Century Armoire in lovely polished cherrywood. A classic furniture piece providing versatile storage for the home. Impressive removable arched pediment with repeating geometric decorative carved detail over arched profile frieze with central carved motif. Arch top panelled doors opening to three fitted drawers and two removable full depth shelves. Beneath the main doors can be found a full width frieze drawer set on carved scrolled supports and decorative frieze with central carved detail. Drawers and doors are free moving, key still present for main door lock. This stylish antique armoire offers considerable volumes of versatile storage which could be reconfigured to create hanging space in the top section if required. Sold in fully assembled state. For ease of installation buyers may opt to dissemble the armoire by removing the various oak pegs which hold the joints together. Alternatively buyers may opt to just remove the pediment, both doors which lift off their hinges, along with loose shelves and drawers to reduce weight during installation. It should be noted that this is a substantial item made from solid wood, it will require 3/4 strong people to move safely when fully assembled. During its long life previous owners have drilled through the solid wood back panel presumably for cable routing. This item has signs of inactive historic woodworm in a few areas. Although inactive we have thoroughly treated this piece with woodworm killer as a precaution. The fitted drawer section has some metal supports beneath and modern screws securing frame rails underneath the drawers. Maximum 140cm wide, maximum 67cm deep, maximum 247.5cm tall.
