Beautiful early 19th Century toleware tin tea caddy, c. 1830’s. The tea caddy features hand-painted fruit and floral medallion on blue ground with yellow trim, with a two compartment tin interior with lock and  key.  The interior lid is marked in red A8-147 as the piece was part of prior museum display or collection. Measures 5 ½” high to top of knob x 4 ¼” long x 3” wide and is in very good antique condition, the lock is in working condition though rusty, there is rust to the interior and the divider appears to have been soldered as well as the back hinged lid, areas of paint loss commensurate with age and use.
