Large Victorian sterling silver goblet hallmarked Sheffield 1899 by renowned silversmiths, Mappin & Webb. The goblet, which bears an applied silver crest, was presented as a trophy at the 1899 Molesey Regatta. The crest is embossed "MOLESEY AMATEUR REGATTA 28.29 JULY 1899". Weight: 271.6 gm. Height: 215 mm. Diameter of rim: 95 mm. Diameter of base: 85 mm. Hall Mark: Sheffield 1899. Maker's Mark: Mappin & Webb. Molesey Regatta: A rowing regatta, established in 1867, which takes place on the River Thames. Molesey consists of two villages, East Molesey and West Molesey, Surrey on the edge of Greater London.
