Item:114232171798A fine mid 1800 carved oak long case clock by the renowned Cornish clock maker John Hocking (1844-47) Redruth The wonderfully carved oak case is solid, it has age related marks as one might expect(please study pictures) but is very good overall, a slender carved door(missing its lock) with matching hood and base. The movement is a good quality 8-day duration - working fine, striking the hours on a brass/bronze bell. The original painted face with brass hands, date aperture and seconds subsidiary dial are in excellent condition, the automated Swan is designed in such away the neck rocks smoothly with the escapement - looks great in operation. Complete with a pair of cast steel weights and its original pendulum.
