Vintage Sutherland No.3358 Dark Crimson-Red bands; Gold gilt overlay; on crisp; white English bone china. Teamed with a Royal Albert Cake Serving Plate; also with a Crimson-Red wide band with Gold gilt chintz overlay. It’s a mis-match to the trio but compliments it; just a fraction lighter.
All pieces are clean and retain a very healthy ring. There’s no chips; no cracks; no hairlines; no crazing; no staining; overall very good gold gilt trim. The tea plate and teacup have no cutlery marks; and very slight on the saucer. The cake plate is older and has cutlery marks consistent with age and usage; and a few scuff marks on the red band (see last two photos)
The Trio is circa 1970’s and the Cake Plate has a Royal Albert back-stamp circa 1950’s.
Cake Plate = 9 1/2” x 9” inches (24.5cm x 22.5cm)
Tea Plate = 6 1/2” inches wide (16.5cm)
Saucer = 5 3/4” inches wide (14.5cm)
Teacup stands 2 3/4” inches tall (7cm) with a brim width of 3 1/4” inches (8.5cm)
