The domed hinged cover with an acorn finial. An ebonised fruit wood double C- scroll handle. A leaf capped swan neck spout, chased shell and floral decoration to the upper and lower portion of the body. Crested to one side with a bird of prey with a branch in its beak. Standing on a spreading circular foot, with gadrooned border. Provenance: The Estate of the late Sir Edward du Cann KBE (1924-2017). Clearly marked to the underside for London 1768 by LH, probably Lewis Hamon. The lid marked with the lion passant and the maker's mark. A very elegant and attractive silver coffee pot in first class original condition. No signs of damage or repair. The lid sits well, the handle is firm in its mounts with original silver pins. The pot stands true on the table. Lovely colour and patina.
