Click to enlarge Antique Satin Wood Wardrobe by Hille This antique Satinwood three door wardrobe is a stunning & rare piece of furniture. It was made by the famous London cabinet makers 'S. Hille & Co' around the 1910 period (see their label on the wardrobe in the image). Hille furniture was always top quality & there was an exhibition of their products in the Victoria & Albert museum about 30 years ago that I remember going to. Hille are probably more well know for their later contemporary items - see - - This wardrobe is not only beautifully made, but it has a very practicably design. Behind the two left hand doors is a large hanging area, with plenty of depth too. There should be a hanging bar running accross the top & we will have one fitted before sending out. It also has all the original brass hooks inside. There are mirrors on the insides of both doors. Behind the right hand door is a combination of pull out slides & shelves. The door panels have arched top mouldings with shell carvings at the tops. The shell carving is repeated on the base with more carvings either side. The top cornice has slight gadrooning & there is some subtle carving in the middle of the top. All the doors have the original brass drop handles & locks. The feet also have a nice shape to them. The nicest thing about this wardrobe is the fact that it's Satinwood, which is quite rare for this sort of thing & the colour is lovely. It has all been fully restored & French polished. This wardrobe comes apart into four sections for easy transportation. Width - 74", 188 cm Depth - 23.2", 59 cm Height - 82.3", 209 cm Condition As with all of my items, one might find the odd indentation or marking consistent with the age of the item, so please don't expect new looking antiques. Everything is restored & polished when needed, but I would rather leave as much originality & character as possible. Delivery For those of you wanting delivery, please note the rough guide in costs below, but please note that in order to keep the delivery costs down, very few items can be delivered immediately & sometimes it might take 1-3 weeks, because everything is done by courier. Domestic & Overseas Shipping Arranged Please contact us for a delivery quote before bidding. As a rough guide, most of the furniture items we sell can be sent to the majority of places in England for around £50-£80, but there can be exceptions for more out of the way places, or extremely large pieces, so please always ask. Wales & Scotland may be a bit more. We only ship at cost price, and do our best to get a good deal for our customers. For overseas shipping most companies charge extra for insurance, between 1.5% & 2.5% of the invoice value. For all deliveries, we will require a full postcode and a telephone number. On most shipments, we ask that you pay the courier or shippers direct - that way you know we only ship at cost. Also, we ask that you communicate directly with each other once the goods have left our premises. Obviously, we will help and advise where we can.
