Where secure posting ( signed for ) is offered and the buyer opts for the cheaper non secure option and the item does not arrive, the seller will not be held responsible for the loss. This applies to inland postings.
To avoid postal losses it is advised that buyers request a signed for delivery service which almost negates losses and is the responsibility of the Post Office to ensure delivery. Although 2nd class postage is advertised it is up to the buyer to decide on how much they want to pay and the type of postal service wanted.
Items lost by the Post Office will not be refunded automatically and will be subject to a claim being made on the Post Office for compensation. All Royal Mail signed for will have proof of posting receipt
