This is an unusual house plant which looks great in a hanging basket. Aeschynanthus ‘Twister’ is also known as the ‘lipstick’ plant because of its red flowers. This particular variety has large leaves with big curls. It has been cultivated to form more interesting leaves than the naturally occuring rainforst ephiphyte, therefore this is a plant that doesn't appear in the wild. It is known as a lipstick plant because the red flowers emerge from a dark tube, looking rather like a stick of lipstick!
Collections
If you want to collect your order, you are welcome to, but please contact us first. Please do not turn up out of the blue as you may be disappointed as we do not keep all our plants in the same location. Some are even grown for us in Worcestershire and are despatched from there.
About our Plants
Our stock is ever changing, so it is worth checking back once a week to see what is new and seasonal. We will always pick the best and biggest plants for orders. We do try to give you an estimate of their size, but please appreciate that this is approximate. The picture above gives you some idea of what the pot sizes are.
Plants have natural variations and no two plants are the same just like us. Please do not expect the receive the plant in the picture as we do use library pictures as plants change throughout the year. So, if you have bought a deciduous plant, don't expect it to have leaves and flowers in winter. You may just receive something resembling a twig, but it will burst into life in the spring.
Special Offers
Please read the terms and conditions of any special offers carefully. If it says buy two get one free, you must put three in your basket to qualify. After all you would not go to Tesco and put only one item in your basket if it was buy one get one free and expect them to send the other one on later.
Returns & Damages
We are obliged to accept returns, but to be honest plants do not like going to and fro in boxes. Please think carefully if you wish to return something as if it is damaged on its way back to us we can't refund you. We have experienced packers packing our plants in specialised boxes which ensure that we rarely get any breakages. Due to their perishable nature, we can only accept returns for plants and other perishable goods in the first 14 days after the date of delivery
If your plant has lost some leaves, flowers or a bit has broken off, please do not worry as generally plants are pretty resilient and will recover from this. If your plant has been badly damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt. Any claim for damages must be accompanied with photographic evidence.
Postage & Delivery
All our plants are either sent by Royal Mail Business 24 service or by overnight courier. Please keep an eye out for your plant or any calling cards as they will be returned to the depot / sorting office if you are not in. We will not courier plants on a Friday, as they just sit at the hub all weekend. Trees are despatched on a Wednesday only, the cut off time for this is midday on a Tuesday.
When you get your plant please ensure that you take it out of its packaging straight away and give it a drink if necessary. We do put advice sheets in with our plants to help you when they first arrive, so if you are a novice - don't worry, we are always to hand to help you if needed.
