Antique 1843 Brass Coin Weight for Checking 1 Sovereign Gold Coins. This is a very nice example of an antique Victorian brass coin weight for checking a 1 sovereign gold coin. It is dated 1843 and has the bust of a young Queen Victoria on one side and the precise minimum acceptable weight of 5 dwt 2.5 grains on the other. It is in very good uncleaned condition and I have shown it in action on the fabulous rocker balance we are selling separately this week.
