Seller: Top-Rated Seller classictime2015 (3,358) 100%, Location: Stonehouse, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 173397557622 This clock is a Very Rare 18th century 5 pillar twin fusee Mahogany bracket clock with a bell striking movement and pull repeat by John Thwaites Of London Circa 1790 The Flame Mahogany case has a arch top design with a brass handle to top, brass bracket feet with brass fish scale original brass side frets with red silk behind them and full length back glass door and a convex bevelled glass & brass cast bezel front door The clock stands elegantly on its original brass bracket feet and displays beautifully The clock has a hinged fully glazed back door with the back door having its original lock and a working key in full working order. The front cast bezel has a clasp which holds it shut. There is a pull button catch for the door but this doesnt currently catch the lock As you can see from the many photo's of the clock is totally untouched and just how alot of collectors wish to see them. The case is in great condition for age undamaged and looks absolutely superb on display. The figured patina and colour to the mahogany case is totally original and looks beautiful and all the brass mounts have thier original finish with a superb patina as i am sure you can see from the photographs The clock features an original painted circular convex dial with english made brass hands. The dial as you can see has very minimal age wear to it which only adds to its character and authenticity and totally original never repainted The original early movement is absoulutely fantastic 5 pillar twin fusee English movement with an original anchor escapement chiming on a bell with a pull repeat chord with arched top to plates. The backplate is engraved with very fine scroll engravings around the edge and the movement benefits from a hourly strike on a bell with a pull repeat chord under the base which when pulled repeats the last hourly strike. The movement is in full working order keeping good time and striking the bell when it should as can be seen in the video above The clock measures 18 inches high x 11 inches wide x 8 inches deep and looks super impressive wherever it is displayed This is a perfect investment clock and a real collecters piece, totally untouched and totally original. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description) In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void.
