ALL OUR BUISNESS INFORMATION IS LISTED UNDER 'BUSINESS SELLER INFORMATION' DESCRIPTION: This is an exquisite and rare 8-Day brass dial inlaid mahogany longcase clock by Alex Gordon of Dublin, there is another example of a longcase clock by this maker in the National Museum of Ireland. This clock is in superb condition and is exceptionally detailed. The clock is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.If we start with the hood, this has a stunning Architectural top which incorporates into a beautifully shaped pediment which has lovely dentil detailing, the moulding below this is also finished beautifully to the top with dentil work. The panel below this has lovely scroll design blind fretwork, which sets it off beautifully. Pretty reeded columns flank the hood door with lovely reeded back splats to the rear. The door has a pretty little brass knob. then below the hood is further pretty dentil work.If we then move down to the trunk it has a lovely fully length door which is nicely shaped to the top and is cross banded in mahogany and inlaid with stringing. The door is also complete with it's lock and key which is fully working. The door is then flanked by quarter reeded columns.Finally the base has is a shaped applied panel which is is cross banded in mahogany and inlaid with stringing. It also has canted corner to the front which have wonderful reeded detailing. The clock is raised on lovely ogee bracket feet.The chapter ring is silvered with both Roman and Arabic numerals and is signed with the makers name 'Alex Gordon, DUBLIN'. The four corners of the dial are adorned with maiden head spandrels. There are subsidiary second dial and a date aperture. The dial also has the most wonderful fretted fingers.The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. The movement is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is immaculately clean.Another lovely feature is that on the inside of the case there is a reatilers label which reads 'T.
