Antique 8-Day Longcase Clock Grandfather Clock. All original and working with painted dial
Welcome to our auction for our wonderful 8-day Antique Long Case Clock which we has been in our family for many years and is in working condition.
However, the time has now come to pass it on to a new owner as a house move forces the reluctant sale of this lovely clock.
The mahogany case and painted face both have a lovely aged patina and colour to them. There are three brass finials atop the sliding hood making for a stunning and imposing example of this type of clock which will grace any hall, drawing room or sitting room. The case is in very good condition commensurate with its age.
Speaking of its age, we’re not absolutely sure but we're told that it’s most likely to have been made in the early part of the 19th century. The movement is by Wilson of Birmingham and in good working order and chimes beautifully as expected. The mechanism is complete with original weights and original pendulum. All in all a very attractive vintage long case clock.
In terms of dimensions, the case measures 83 inches high x 18 inches wide (at widest) x 9 inches deep (at deepest)
The trunk measures 13.5 inches wide x 7 inches deep
